dactyliomancy - Any of a variety of methods of divination using rings; for example, by using a ring as a pendulum or dropping it into a glass of water.
daemon - AKA daimon, demon. In Greek mythology, a being who is part mortal and part god. May be benevolent or malevolent. The Greek spellings are used in modern times to distinguish Greek daemons from Jewish and Christian demons.

His next starring role, in Rebel Without a Cause, made him into the embodiment of his generation. Shortly after completing work on the film Giant, Dean was killed in a car crash and quickly became an enduring film icon.

deva - In Buddhism and Hinduism, a higher-level being or minor god.
Devil - Another name for the biblical Satan, the fallen angel who tests man's relationship with God. The Devil is often taken to mean the embodiment of all evil.
Devil's mark - A birthmark or other blemish on a person, said to have been placed there by the Devil as a sign of ownership.
Devil's Triangle - A synonym for the Bermuda Triangle. Sometimes used to refer to the Dragon's Triangle in the Pacific Ocean.
divination - The supernatural art of prophesy; foretelling the future.
Doppelganger - In German folklore, a wraith or apparition of a living person; a "spirit double" or exact replica of a person.
double - An exact duplicate of a person, usually an apparition located at a distance from the original.
dowsing - A technique which employs a forked stick, bent wire or pendulum to locate things. The most common applications are searching for water, oil, etc.
Dracula - The name of a vampire in the Bram Stoker novel of the same name (published 1897).
Dragon - A mythical creature generally represented (in western society) as a huge, winged, sometimes fire-breathing reptile with crested head, a long tail, and enormous claws and teeth.
Dragon's Triangle - AKA Devil's Sea, one of 12 Vile Vortices originally plotted by Ivan T. Sanderson.
Druid - Member of the pre-Christian Celtic priesthood of Britain and Gaul. Literally means "knowing the oak tree", the oak being sacred to the ancient Celts.
