The long history of the UCF Executive Development Center as a major funeral home shapes the stories surrounding it. Because it was one of the largest facilities in Central Florida during the early twentieth century, it processed a high number of services. Many believe that this constant exposure to grief and loss created an environment where emotional energy remained long after the building changed purpose.

Visitors and occupants have reported hearing unexplained footsteps moving through hallways when no one else is present. These sounds are often described as slow, deliberate pacing, as if someone were walking from room to room. Alongside the footsteps, faint whispering voices have also been reported, leading some to believe they are the lingering spirits of those once brought through the building.

Apparitions have become one of the most talked about aspects of the location. Witnesses have described seeing a lady in white appearing briefly in corridors or near doorways before vanishing. Others have reported darker shadowy figures moving along walls or standing at the end of hallways, especially during quiet evening hours when the building is mostly empty.

Some accounts connect these sightings directly to the building's former use as a mortuary, which remained active until 1992. Urban legends suggest that bodies were once stored not only within the building itself but possibly in nearby or adjacent spaces during peak times. These stories have fueled the idea that the site holds more residual energy than a typical historic structure.

Because of these ongoing reports, the building is often mentioned among the most haunted locations in Orlando. While it now serves a professional and educational purpose, the combination of its funeral home past, reported paranormal activity, and persistent local legends continues to give it a reputation that goes far beyond its modern role.
