These factors lead to the idea that the spirits of former actors, patrons, or staff might linger in the place where they spent a lot of time in life, especially if they died tragically or had a deep connection to the theater. This belief further fuels the theatrical superstition that every theater has a "ghost light" to appease spirits.
Old factories or mills are often considered "haunted" because of their history of potentially tragic accidents, harsh working conditions, and the large number of people who may have died on site during their operation.
