Austine School for the Deaf
In 1904, after retiring in Brattleboro, U.S. Army Colonel William Austine left a generous bequest that became the seed for a special school for Vermont's blind and deaf students.
Vermont has a reputation for being haunted due to its rich history, folklore, and numerous ghost stories, including tales of the Bennington Triangle, vampires, and haunted locations like the University of Vermont and Lake Bomoseen State Park.
