A full narrative history section

The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Terminal is the most architecturally significant remaining railroad passenger station in the central city of Youngstown. Built in an eclectic Georgian Revival style in 1905, the two-and-a-half story station is distinguished as an intact reminder of the tremendous role which the railroads played in Youngstown development as a manufacturing and population center in the late-19th and early 20th centuries. The design of building reflects the importance of passenger rail travel during the early years of the 20th century, and in particular, the significance of the B&O line to passenger traveling through Youngstown from either Washington or Chicago. The terminal has a great deal of architectural integrity, and occupies a distinctive site on a curve of tracks overlooking the Mahoning River, with a view of the downtown area to the east.

Paranormal narrative section

We were told about the paranormal activity in this building by a medium who was part of an investigation team that was brought in there in the early 2000s. As we worked on other projects, he related the knight's tale to what he heard and felt in the building. When she worked after hours, the restaurant manager was concerned about paranormal activity. She would see shadowy figures and mists moving about in the dark main dining area. There would be sounds of tapping that would come from the hallway leading to the restrooms. The investigators captured some intelligent responses to flashlight sessions that they conducted and recorded some EVP recordings in the building as well. Our friend told us that he did not sense a dark spirit or even a single spirit at all, but several that seemed to come and go and not stay within the building for a long period of time, but there was one that he detected was trapped at the building, and he could not determine why the spirit was there. This lingering presence, he explained, felt lost and confused, often manifesting as a faint chill in the air or the sensation of being watched. Intrigued, we decided to add this location to the database in hopes that one day we may be able to conduct an investigation in the building ourselves.
