Many Bangor area residents are interested in knowing more about haunted places throughout Maine. The Boothbay Opera House, located in Boothbay has served many purposes over a two-hundred year span. Although the building is an opera house, the facility was once used as a mini-mall, and a school gym. It also housed a religious fraternity called the Knights of Pythias.

Sometime during the year 1949, visitors, and workers have reported feeling a strange presence in one of the upstairs rooms. Many people have claimed to hear the piano playing when no one was playing it. Others have said that they have seen the keys on the piano moving bye themselves.

Many of the opera houses visitors and employees believe that the building is haunted. Some people believe that the ghost's name is Earl Cliff. Earl played the piano at the opera house during the early 1900's. Other people believe that it is the ghost of someone else, although they do not know who.
